According to reports, a Ukrainian sniper shot and killed a Russian general this week. In a heated fight between Russian and Ukrainian forces, Major General Andrey Sukhovetsky, deputy commander of the 41st Combined Arms Army of Russia’s Central Military District, was reportedly killed. According to the report, Sukhovetsky was killed “by a sniper.” A funeral is set for Saturday, according to the source. Sergei Chipilyov of the Union Airborne Forces Union of Russian Paratroopers reacted to the news on social media without confirming the death within the Russian military. His social media post read as follows “With great pain, we received the tragic news about the death of our friend, Major-General Andrey Aleksandrovich Sukhovetsky, in Ukraine during a special operation,” the post said, according to Newsweek. “We express our deepest condolences to his family.” this would mark the second high profile leader killed by Ukrainian forces. Magomed Tushayev another russian general was killed during the battle at Hostomel Airport, an international cargo airport outside Ukraine’s capital Kyiv. Tushayev was Head of the 141st Motorized Regimen of the Chechen National Guard and was Chechen Warlord Ramzan Kadyrov’s right-hand man.
